Can't say I blame Ringo. If Doc Holliday basically said he'd be my dance partner before a fight, I think I might be a tad concerned. ...... Tombstone

The meaning of "I'm your huckleberry...."

Actually, when Johnny Ringo believed he was addressing Wyatt Earp and said 'Well, I didn't think you had it in you..." and Doc Holliday replied "I'm your huckleberry" I believe that he meant that he (Doc) was up to the challenge of taking him on or up to the job as it were....

Once did some research on Doc. Turns out he frequently said, "I'm your huckleberry." Huckleberry was a slang term for a dance partner in the West at that time. doc used it to mean he was the man for the job. So, I'd blanch if Doc said that to me -- he really was quite a gunslinger before his TB got the better of him. (Sorry, I have a tendency to drone on about absolutely nothing if it interests me.)

Well I could answer but only because you mentioned it was one of your favorite movies awhile back. (Been looking for it ever since.) so, I'll leave it to someone who actually has seen the movie.
