Default Netflix Movies

Recently watched The Christmas Chronicles with Kurt Russell, Dumplin' with Jennifer Aniston, and Bird Box with Sandra Bullock. A fun fantasy flick, a feel good movie, and a tense weird offering in that order. All I can say is that Netflix has come a long way from DVD rentals.

There seems to be a mixed bag with these Netflix films. I will probably see Bird Box soon.

Watching The Dirty Dozen with Lee Marvin today on Netflix.

Bird Box was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I liked the movie, "Law Abiding Citizen", and the TV show, "The Kominsky Method".

The premise of “Bird Box” seems so ludicrous that I don’t know whether I want to spend a few hours of what’s left of my life on watching it. Am I wrong?

Using Amazon Prime. Good old movies, with newer movies added weekly, plus TV sitcoms

Thumbs down Stay with Netflix

I think we will stay with Netflix and Amazon movies. Went to see "Mary Queen of Scots" today and it was the 2nd movie we ever walked out on. The first was many years ago and it was "The American". This was much worse than The American. We both said that within the first 5 minutes we knew we should leave but neither wanted to say it so we waited for 30 minutes and could take it no longer. It would take too long to point out all of the terrible things wrong.

Ever since I heard about this 2014 release, I had been looking for it on one of the premium channels, I've got them all, and I finally found it on Netflix as a new addition. It's called Ex Machina, a sci-fi thriller that is one of the best I've seen in a long time, it doesn't disappoint.

The Villages Florida

Ex Machina (2014) - IMDb

Caleb, a 26 year old programmer at the world's largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at a private mountain retreat belonging to Nathan, the reclusive CEO of the company. But when Caleb arrives at the remote location he finds that he will have to participate in a strange and fascinating experiment in which he must interact with the world's first true artificial intelligence, housed in the body of a beautiful robot girl.

Here's the three main players

The Villages Florida

We only watch Amazon Prime and Netflix movies. We shut off all premium channels on our Direct TV account.

What are Premium Channels? I swear that I go on a frenzy sometimes trying to find anything interesting. My Direct TV is full of people selling stuff and some of it is pretty weird. I drift toward PBS and things filmed by the British and the Australians anymore. I have almost given up on all news programs, it makes me want to throw things at the TV.

I would like to try Netflix but don't want a long commitment in case I don't like it.

Channels in addition to the basics. Stuff like HBO, Cinemax, Showtime.
