Wink What movie is this Quote from?

"Well, I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it."

One of my favorites and quite old.

One of my fave movies. But I'll leave the answer to someone who doesn't immediately recognize it.

Another great line from that movie, "Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. And you may quote me."

I saw the play of the same name at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis around 1989-1990. My live in girlfriend-- now a lawyer or a court administrator in NE-- Jennifer V., was rather angry that I had not purchased season tickets for her as well as but I thought that she would be too busy with her third year of law school. I had already graduated and saw many very good plays including the one with this movie plot. Jennifer V. is the daughter of a theater actress.

Way to go. James Stewart from a 1944 play by Mary Chase.
