I'm still interested in getting together with anyone wanting to play the Blues...

My husband plays blues harmonica and sings. He is interested in casual jamming or in a club if one develops. Anyone interested in jamming, pleas pm me. In fact, if there is interest in jamming, we'd offer our house as an initial meeting place. Just pm me, let me know what is a good time, and we'll try to set up a time and date. Thanks!

Just throwing it out there. Rock blues, bluesy rock. Jam songs, with lots of room to improvise. Who would be interested. I play guitar.

There are a bunch of country music groups, there's bluegrass, one plain rock group died out, another guy is looking to start another rock club (I PMed him), but nothing bluesy.

I don't know anything about starting a club, just looking to see if there's any interest.

So what's going on. We seem to have a number of people interested. You can call a rec center and get a room within twenty four hours of when you need it. Pick a date and call some rec centers until you find one that available and then PM or e-mail all of us that are interested. You could pick a day and date and see who's available or ask what dates we're all available and the call around the day before.

Or 8notes offered her house for a first meeting.

The blues jams leave a lot to be desired. I've gone a few times and in my humble opinion, they are not run very well. You can sit around for over three hours waiting to play one or two songs while the "regulars" seem to sit in forever.

Let's stop talking about this and do something. What's a good date?

Yay! I can't hit a note with a stick on any instrument, but I LOVE the blues. Are we talking Robert Cray blues or Muddy Waters blues? Whichever, I LOVE it! I'll come watch and clap and whistle.

My husband plays drums also. He did not bring his drums to Florida, left them on Long Island, NY. (We couldn't fit them). He would love to play again, so if anyone has a set of drums he can use until we get his down here, that would be great. Just let him know if you need another drummer. Thanks. :)

Good idea. I didn't realize you could just reserve a room. What days of the week/times work for everyone? My husband is free Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and possibly Thursday night or Monday morning. If there is enough interest I can reserve a room somewhere .

Jake and Elwood are on a mission from God and want it Sunday morning.

I just checked with a rec center, and they said we have to be officially formed as a club before we can reserve a room. so anyways, just in limbo now, waiting to hear back from people on days of the week, etc., when we might meet. It would be fun to have a jam group, and am thinking of possibly adding in an occasional field trip to go hear some good blues in the area.

Tuesday or Thursday afternoon is good

Sydney 06-01-2014 10:07 AM

Okay, peeps, I like Wednesday, Thursday, or even as DougB suggested Sunday morning works really well for me. Those that want to play, PM me your name and a contact number or email, a day that works for you, what instrument you play, if you sing, and I know right now a female vocalist is definitely wanted, also a list of songs or artist that you like and we are talking 'BLUES'. After I get all the information I will put it together and submit it to the rec center as a club and make the request for a room.

The BEST way to reach me is through my email, rjsturn1@yahoo.com, so hopefully we can make this happen.

Just a note to my last, Sunday morning is my first choice, I believe I will be able to reserve a room easier than any other day...
