My friend was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam when Ann Margret was over there. He was named Airman of the Month and supposed to get a DATE with Ms Margret. They had a dinner and the Generals with stars sat next to her. She said , "Wait a minute, I thought that I would have a date with Jerry" (my friend). She got the Generals to move so that she could talk to Jerry. Not only was she willing to entertain the troops in Vietnam - she showed that she was a real person that understood the strength of the US middle class. |
