Favorite Song…

My favorite song is Memories by ELVIS. We will be moving to The Villages next year. I hope to be playing and entertaining in most of the Pubs as I do in NC. I play and sing lots of songs mentioned here. Please checkout my Facebook page for updates. Thank you! Type in search bar. musicbyrickstone

Kris Kristopherson

I actually have his autograph. Ran into him at airport about 30 years ago, he signed my boarding pass which I still have.

One of my of my funny favorites by Mike Snider or Aaron Wilburn:

“If my nose was running money honey, I’d blow it all on you. . . But it’s snot!”

Did you read my two favorites? Indie and Grunge. Makes you cry? I don’t think so. And I love Tom Petty.

I get goose bumps whenever I hear “Rainy Night in Georgia” and “Sunday Morning Coming Down”. I don’t know who wrote the first but I will always be indebted to Kris Kristofferson for this song.

Rock Around the Clock, Speedo, I'm a Man, and "Gunslinger" by Bo Diddley, Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant, Little Queenie, Maybelline, Nadine by Chuck Berry, Windmills of Your Mind by Petula Clark, In the Ghetto, I wanna Dance with Somebody David Bowie, Like a Virgin, What's Love Got to Do with It, One Way or Another by Blondie, Summertime and Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin, Lawyers, Guns and Money and Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner by Warren Zevon. Also, I forgot about "The Sound of Silence", The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot, House of the Rising Sun, Good Golly, Miss Molly, Up on the Roof

I am haunted by the guitar playing and emotional lyrics of "You and your friend" Mark Knopfler. (Dire Straits)
I can't get enough of hearing it over and over.

From the songs we are listing I think I can make a good guess on the ages posting here. I "think" i am on the younger side... for now.

The haunting lyrics by Roy Orbison on "Handle With Care" by the Traveling Wilburys.

Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."

"The Lucky One" by Alison Krauss.

Beautiful

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack is one of my favorites. Excellent use of it was many years ago, a NYC news station played it behind videos of all the new mothers holding their newborns on January 1st. Made me cry.

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is another of my favorites. He did it so well.
