Default Rock Music

Working hard to get to TV as soon as the divorce is worked out and I retire (either this August or next). I've played in bands for years...pretty left of center stuff. Alternative tunings...odd time signatures...lots of delay...lots of effects...looping...I even have a Martin D-28 with a midi set-up to control synths.

My first concert was Tommy James in 1967. Since then - Jefferson Airplane, Dead, Stones, Who, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, CSNY (I was there for 4 way street), Blind Faith, Dylan with and without the Band, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles (I drove Cameron Crowe to the show!), Derek and the Dominos (with Elton John opening), Springsteen (countless times - I even have him reading an offer to play at my wedding on a boot), the Ramones, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Jam, The Smiths, Patti Smith, Talking Heads, Radiohead (my fave), Fleet Foxes, Sonic Youth, Tortoise, Andrew Bird, My Bloody Valentine, Grizzly Bear, The Association, The Turtles, Buddy Rich, Brian Wilson with and without, McCartney, Harrison and Caetano Veloso. There are lots of others - that's just the ones that stand out. Oh, Randy Newman, Pat Methany, Mahavishnu, Chuck Berry, Wilco, and Cocteau Twins.

My one regret - having Joy Division tickets and then Ian hung himself. Ah, Love Will Tear Us Apart.

When I get down to TV, look me up - I share music. ps - Joni Mitchell kissed me. Cheers - Gary

I'm so sick of 50's-early 60's music I could scream.

Via sat radio I listen to modern rock, which there is a lot of once you find it, that is pretty good. By "modern", I mean stuff from 1995 onward.

Harbor53 - there is a huge thriving community of artists of all kinds here in TV. I'm sure you will find your niche here, no problem. And the larger the place gets, the more people you will find that have similar interests. My hubby and I have only been here since November, and I am already playing gigs and starting to get more bookings. I have found artists and musicians here from all different walks of life, and some of the background stories (like yours) would just blow you away. They chose to retire here because of the opportunities to continue to enjoy their craft and reside among people who appreciate good art. Come on down!

I LOVE Mozart, Beethovan, Bach, Shubert, Haydn, Handel, Ravel, Schuman, Struass, Vivaldi, etc.

I also love Blues, Big Band, Jazz, Swing and show tunes.

But I've got a rock 'n roll, I've got a rock 'n roll heart!

Let's see...Beatles, Stones, Eagles, Joplin, Zepplin, Baez, Dillon, Bob Seger, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Doors, Earth, Wind & Fire, Clapton, CCR, Rare Earth, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, Santana, Yes, The Who, Elton John, Dead, ZZ Top, Journey, Derek & the Dominos, Billy Joel, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Blue Oyster Cult, Cat Stevens, all the Motown groups, all the Woodstock groups, Donovan, Fleetwood Mac, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, Jackson Browne, Jefferson Airplane and Starship, Enya, Bee Gees, Byrds... well you get the idea

With apologies to Billy Joel:

Hard Rock, Soft Rock
Woodstock
Sock Hop
It's still Rock 'n Roll to me

Default Something for Everyone

Personally, I love the oldies (50's, 60's, classic country) and can't stand hard rock. That's just me and I'm glad there is such variety here. Let's keep it that way, please! Some love jazz, some love country, some love rock, some love elevator music, some love soft and hard rock; they play all kinds here....something for everyone.

If the whole world liked the same things they would only sell vanilla ice cream.

My favorite music? The classics and show tunes. But I am pretty much like P.Turner. But she said it much better.
