Default Rocky and the Rollers

I was at Lake Sumter tonight to see Rocky and the Rollers. Normally, I LOVE this group. In fact, I have canceled other activities on Tuesday nights so I could see them. However, the last couple of times I have seen them, they have been without their fantastic lead singer, and, in my opinion, it has really made a difference in their quality. The new lead singer is just average. Does anyone know what happened to the old lead singer. Sorry, I can't remember his name.

Think you are talking about Dave Parker---he is wonderful--- We noticed the last time we were at Square to see the group, Dave was absent. We were hoping it was just a temporary thing. Did not see them tonight but hate to think he is not going to be with them. When you go to their web page, they still show his picture and his bio, etc. Don't know why he isn't with them.

Maybe Dave Parker is taking a vacation? I just can't imagine all those falsetto songs without him.

We were told by someone who is a close friend of his, that he has taken a leave of absence to address a personal issue.

Happens a lot in the music industry. But it may pass and we'll see Dave back.

I know a drummer in California who frequently sits in for bands who are temporarily missing the drummer. Let's see if I can remember the reasons:
Quit
Fired
In jail
Sick
On a trip - (I think this leads to "in jail")
Needs some family time (usually just before the divorce)
etc.

I hope this gets resolved and we see Dave back, if in fact he was fired.

He was fired/left because of his personal problem that he is presently getting help for.

We listened to the group Tuesday and noticed something was different. We don't know the group well enough to know each one in the group, but certainly noticed a difference in the sound of the lead singer. If it's Dave that's missing, we hope he returns.

I was there on Tuesday also. I don't think they had the sound system working properly, none of the singing sounded right, the musical instruments drowned out the voices.

As for Dave Parker, I hope he gets his personal problems resolved. His voice, however, does not sound as good as it did when I moved here four years ago.

Just got back from SS and saw Rocky for the first time since returning to TV. The change in the group was visually obvious and unfortunately audibly obvious. Not the same excitement and verve in the music. If Dave Parker doesn't return, Rocky & The Rollers will become another mediocre group performing in the squares and certainly not worth going out of the way to see.
