That was actually the tour I saw in '72, "Thick as a Brick". The album jacket if you remember, folded out into a newspaper with stories mostly concerning rabbits. The show to this day was one of best I've ever seen, and remember this came right after the album Aqualung, so they were fairly big at the time. During the show they had people in rabbit costume hop across the stage, or a large telephone would ring and Ian would stop and go answer. When playing the flute he is often on one leg with the other sort of a tree pose, he also plays the acoustic quite often especially on the intro to Thick as a Brick. I saw JT again in '95 with Emerson Lake & Palmer, he wasn't quite the same theatrically, in fact on that tour he fell and broke his leg and made some shows from a wheel chair. Check out video's from the '70's, they were quite good.

I also quit watching any of those award shows years ago, but my husband happened to be flipping through the channels when Bruno Mars was on and we did watch his performance. I really enjoy him. Not only is he a great performer, but I've never heard him use his platform for politics. I could be wrong about that last part, but that is what really turns me off about so many musicians, actors, etc.

Glad to hear on the morning news that Bruno Mars finally got some recognition for his talent.

lADY GAGA, SHAKIRA, AND PATTI LAPONE WERE JUST AMAZING!!!!

They shot themselves in the foot for most people caring to watch.

Oh NO!!! Please don't tell me that I missed yet another Awards Show.

Been on a losing streak here - missing almost every one of these self-promoting self-congratulating self-absorbed TV/movies/music/theater Prima Donna award shows.

The last one I really watched was on a Zenith tube-TV set and if I was out recorded it on a VCR tape. I think Johnny Carson hosted. And zero politics. And very few 'know-it-all' celebrities spouting their views to the public.

Man I must be getting old...sounding like my father when Elvis and the Beatles came out.

I always look in to see the opening act, hoping it would be Bruno Mars. It wasn't, and again it was an "in your face" political statement and I changed channels. But I was glad I looked in again and saw all of Lady Gaga's performance. It was amazing.

I liked Rihanna. I actually don't find her pretty personally but Va-Voom.

Speaking of Johnny Carson, he was the best. That was when late night television was great and worth watching.

I have to laugh at this because their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show my dad said that in 50 years no one would even know who they were.

Ditto on the not wasting time on awards shows or Superbowl.
