Not great by any means. Johnny Carson re-runs are coming back in January. I don't know what time but I bet if they were up against the 3 Late Nights currently on Johnny would be a big draw. It would be for me!

I love Johnny Carson. But I think the reruns are on an obscure station that Direct TV does not have.

Lost me the first night right after the Oreos bit. Stupid. I'll stick with Fallon, but wish it was Carson, Leno, or Letterman.

Tried it for two nights. Not my cup of tea. I watch Jimmy Fallon cause he's better than the others but will never be Carson or Letterman. Disappointed.

All generational and ratings driven. Our generation doesn't count for much, our demographic has passed the attention of the advertisers.

I never cared for Colbert nor his predecessor. My daughter loves the guy. she will be visiting us shortly and I anticipate i am going to get introduced to his new show. The big dogs in Television Land recognize that their comedy writers stink and that is why they are attempting to revive many of the old comedy shows.

I read a biography on Johnny Carson that depicted his conceit, etc but he was the most interesting and funniest guy to ever hold that spot. so if they are going to revive his shows I hope my carrier includes the station.

And yes JoMar seniors are the forgotten audience all one has to do his preview the tv guides..a thousand channels of nothing...well almost nothing

Stephen Colbert was top notch on The Colbert Report, but it took him some time to settle in to it. Having watched his late night premier, hopefully, that will happen again.

This was my thought, too. I remember he was actually nervous during the first shows of his Comedy Central show. I'm hoping he'll find his stride.

With few exceptions the comedians who graduated from Saturday Night Live in my view resembled comedians who were trying to imitate comedians who were also trying to imitate comedians but did it badly. In addition I find their humor to be in bad taste. Contrast many of those SNL to comedians like Bob Newhart, Tim Conway, , etc

Have taped it but only watched the Oreo segment so far. I liked it though. Stephen Colbert 'Late Show' Premiere: Trump Oreos Segment, Sabra Hummus Plug, Les Moonves and More Clips (Video) - Hollywood Reporter
