Default Over the air antenna for TV

Who has had success with an OTA antenna? What model? How is it mounted? Amplifier? How many stations and in what direction? Not counting religious and Hispanic stations. I'm on my second try with that marvelous rotating thing on Amazon. Have no idea where it's pointed. Push the button and it will go in either direction it feels like. No reference. Currently using YoutubeTV, which we like, but it really eats the data on three tv's and computers which exceeds our data limit. $$. Using Comcast/Xfi wire/no fibre available. Just havin' lots of fun.
