He could reach Ken Jenning's regular game winnings in a week or so. Ken Jennings - Wikipedia

His total earnings on Jeopardy! are $3,196,300, consisting of $2,520,700 over his 74 wins, a $2,000 second-place prize in his 75th appearance, a $500,000 second-place prize in the Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions, a $100,000 win for second-place prize in the Jeopardy! Battle of the Decades, as well as half of a $300,000 prize in the IBM Challenge, when he competed against Watson.

We're "fair weather fans" - started watching J again over a month ago after hearing about James.

1. Won't guess re the poll, but my belief is that the ONLY way he will lose and stop his streak is - running into a smart competitor AND James gets some categories outside of his brain AND loses huge wagers on Daily Doubles or Final. All 3 must happen in one game.

2. Hard to believe that 'leakage' of results don't occur - given that shows running now were taped almost 2 months ago. One would think an audience member at the James LOSING show (if he did...) would blab.

3. Interesting>>>

Ken Jennings mentioned that he calculated the most you can win on Jeopardy. It's an interesting exercise.

If you assume that one player answers every question correctly, that the Daily Double clues are always hidden on the LOWEST value squares ($200 on Jeopardy, $400 on Double Jeopardy), that the Daily Double clues are the LAST ones chosen each round, AND that the player bets everything on every Daily Double and Final Jeopardy, you end up with: $35,600 after the Jeopardy Round, at total of $70,800 before the first Daily Double of the Double Jeopardy round, $141,600 after the first Daily Double, $283,200 after the second Daily Double, and $566,400 after Final Jeopardy.

Considering the improbability of all of those conditions, it's remarkable that James got almost a quarter of the way to the theoretical maximum one-game payout - TWICE.

I find the secrecy with respect to what happened in the pre-taped games also amazing. They must have some people who love the show Jeopardy and as audience members keep their mouths shut about the results.

Even Ken Jennings is amazed and rooting for him.

Anything can be rigged but keeping it off the radar would be hard. And these episodes were filmed months ago I believe. They tape a week's worth at one sitting or something like that.

It has to end sometime, one way or another. They won't let him win for the duration of the show.

4 people had the right answer at 7:00 PM tonight.

This may grow though as the poll is open for quite a lot more time.

Default Intentional?

Anyone else think he purposely lost? His explanation for losing was rather weak. I am suspicious but I agree with kcrazor... for some reason he grew tired of the game - or just didn't want to be in the spotlight any longer.
