Default Carrier air conditioners

I have a concern about carrier ac. In the past 2-3 weeks 3 ac 's in my neighborhood have had motors burn out resulting in calling the fire department in 2 situations. The garages were filled with smoke. The units are only 5 years old. Any thoughts on this?

Made out of the United States like a lot of products might have something to do with the quality. I say that about Carrier because a few weeks ago I passed by their former plant (huge) in Tennessee and shrugged my shoulders and shook my head at the loss of jobs.

Just this weekend I passed by the former Whirlpool plant in Illinois and frowned at the empty buildings where so many lost their jobs when Whirlpool moved their plant to Mexico. So sad.......

Could be an undervoltage condition. Lower voltage to an ac motor equals higher current equals higher winding temperature.

We had the motor started capacitor fail on ours. I noticed this before any additional problems, and opened the circuit breaker. Repair was covered under warranty, repairman mentioned had several of these go that same week.

Its cheaper to make anything a American consumer ( be it a home builder or direct customer ) might buy offshore and service it two or three times under warranty, if you are a reputable manufacturer, then to make it in the United States and make it close to a life time purchase. Once it has been serviced two or three times the warranty runs out, unless you buy one of the ridiculously expensive extended warranties, you will replace it anyway starting the cycle all over again.

If you are less then a reputable manufacturer, well too bad.

I don't understand what you are attempting to say.
