It sounds like the two states have different Medicaid eligibility requirements. Medicaid is a Government program that is operated by the states.

What is the problem or question? I would start by filling out the Florida application. http://palmbeach.floridahealth.gov/p...on-english.pdf Maybe before you do that call and see if there is a transfer process. Start here Common ACCESS Florida Forms, Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency (ACCESS) - Florida Department of Children and Families

After he is a Florida resident go to ssa.gov and look up contact info for florida medicaid, download application documents, if you want to communicate with Medicaid for him , he has to sign a authorization of representative for you to handle his affairs. Be prepared for a lot of time on the phone. There is no instruction book for this. Good luck!

I saw a lawyer's sign on a strip mall on 441 between the villages and Leesburg that social security disability help, I am sorry I did not catch a name or specific location, but you may be able to find with an internet search.
