I have had a small black snake in the shower, and have had 3 different frogs in the bathroom. I just catch them, take them outside, and turn them loose.

Tree frogs are actually Toads.
Frogs live in and around water. Toads are land critters.
No way they went thru the plumbing.
Before we go away I put bleach in the toliet and cover with saran wrap

That's a Cuban Tree Frog, not native invasive species. Unfortunately they should be eliminated when you see them. They are killing all the smaller tree frogs and lizards.

A cuban tree frog is far from harmless. If the oils off their skin get in or near your eyes more often than not, they're going to burn like hell for a few hours even if you do rinse.

Default Tree frog

[QUOTE=MrFlorida;2017421]Keep your toilet lid down, and they won't get out of the toilet...[/QUOTE
As much as I don’t want a frog in my house, I don’t want one to die in my toilet. That’s way worse.

Thank you for giving me something to worry about. Ugh. So sorry this happened to you, but, at least it wasn’t a snake! Yikes!

I had a tree frog in my bathroom when I bought my place in June. It totally freaked me out and it took me 45 minutes to catch it and get it out of the house. I finally used a big trash barrel and covered it over and took it outside! I don’t think it came through my toilet. I think the window in my bathroom was not locked in it wedged its way through there and then couldn’t get out. Since then I have weatherstripped and caulked every area possible. I’ve hadno problems since!

Hi, Have lived here for over 12 years. Have always found it amusing how folks are surprised then they encounter "critters." The "critters" have been here long before we came. We are actually the invaders into their homes. We must just learn to live together.

Yes, I've had one in my toilet! What a job trying to get it out. It finally jumped out and I had to get a plastic container to put over it and get it out. It was about the size of an orange. Freaky!
