My yard, my sprinkler. My property rights.

Yes. And i do have a dog too

The part of this complaint that amazes me is the “we feel stalked and sad” over someone who may or may not be intentionally spraying water on you , it certainly doesn’t take much to make some people sad. I walked the family dog in Boston much of summer , city dogs learn to go on concrete , when I have had dogs I never let them go on someone’s lawn and why not walk the other way or across the street or just help the woman , and if she’s living on her own she has some thought process going on

People who don’t like dogs are horrible human beings.

It amazes me One pet owners think their animals can defecate anywhere! Stay off your neighbors lawn what’s so hard to understand! Female dog urine kills grass!!!

Dogs are ok, but the people who post this kind of crap are another thing altogether.

Our neighbors need advice. We live in Monarch Grove and have a wonderful group of people living on our block of Gonzalez Lane. One of our neighbors is an issue. They watch people walking their dogs and remotely turn on their sprinkler system whenever people walk by. We have an elderly lady with dementia who regularly gets doused as she walks her small dog. Everyone is very respectful and picks up any dog poop. Our scared neighbors automatically move to the other side of the street. We feel stalked and sad.

Back when we first moved here I found several piles on our lawn about two feet from the edge of the street. I'm pretty laid back about things but didn't want that to continue so I purchased one of those little lawn signs (maybe 8" square or so) urging people to pick up after their pooches. The problem stopped, but about two days later I found my sign turned around so it faced the house, not the street. There've been a few times since when I've been in the garage or outside when a dog has taken a dump on my lawn. The owner was meticulous about picking up after it. There have been no exchanges, just a friendly wave. I don't know whether or not the pile would have been there after the owner and pooch left, but judging from the fact I haven't seen a pile in just about a year now, I assume that the word has gone out and has been understood.

I don't mind dogs doing their thing on my lawn but I certainly do mind their owners not picking up after it.

Signs are not allowed on lawns.

The reality is, you cannot time when a dog does what a dog does...

One problem "non-dog owners" are missing is that when the sun beats down on the street, the temp can cause serious burns to a dog's feet. Try walking barefoot just off your driveway if you don''t believe me. Walking along the edge of the grass is the only safe place for them.

And I agree, those who don't clean up after their dogs are jerks.

As a loving dog owner I feel that if one can’t walk the dog because of sun etc, except on other people’s lawns, can’t take it to the doggie park, for example, then that person can’t take care of the dog and needs help looking after it. Hire a person who can.

(Up north it was not the sun it was the salt, ice and snow that got in between my dog’s foot pads, so I made booties for both of my dogs. At first the Welsh terrier walked funny, like Hitler with the goose step, but in time he got used to it.)

The lady needs help. You might help the lady walking her dog and get her to walk to other side . I have a neighbor that sits outside all the time. My friends feel uncomfortable with the guy looking. Busybody of the neighborhood. We have many around TV. You need proof to have something done.

They may have motion sprinkler which automatically comes on when detecting motion. I have it too, so animals will stay off the lawn, I think it’s a great idea. I’ve watered myself a couple of times when I forgot… it’s no biggy.

Now if the sprinklers water the street than that should be reported.

The Villages does not allow sprinklers other than the underground irrigation system plumbed to the Villages water source.

Anyone wishing to join the scheme, just need to plant a white cross! .:icon_wink:

Or any lawn ornament for that matter.

A motion sensor can trigger the installed sprinklers.

If the lady has dementia, she needs a person with her for her own safety.

Hankofthedesert 10-10-2021 09:37 AM

If it is a 'fact' about turning on the sprinklers...

I would get in touch with the "Elder Abuse" people....
