I-77 south to columbia, sc looked fine, but i-95 south through south carolina was a parking lot. Want to avoid this. Thanks!

i always give myself the time and opportunity to include the blue ridge parkway into my plans. Cherokee town has casinos, heritage and culture sites, hotels, war vererans memorial park, including a statue of an american marine korean war medal of honor recipient who died saving his squad by throwing himself at 18 upon a live grenade.
Good luck

Both 75 and 95 are both bad in certain spots. Weekends are bad for both especially during the high season Also the time of day . I only drive 75 from Ocala south. I drive from upstate NY so its 81 to 77 to 26 to 95 have to deal with Charlotte or 81 US15 to 270 to 495 to 95 have to deal with the DC to Richmond area . All it takes is one bad accident regardless of which way you go

Only time I have had trouble in SC was because of bad weather. Still prefer it to going through Atlanta.
Interstate 10 to route 121 is a good cut across to 75 . It connects Alachua to Macihenney. Far better than 301

The problem requires larger, big-picture solutions than just having people constantly diverting away from the shortest routes. That IS merely a band-aid, short-term solution.

I suggest using Waze, Apple Maps, the app that comes with iPhone. I don’t know anything about the Android equivalent. I was skeptical initially but have been convinced, they are much better than the GPS in the car and they’re really amazing at diverting you around traffic. Sometimes you just have to have faith in their suggestions; but they are almost always correct. Good luck and “Happy Trails to You”

We always schedule our trip to go through Atlanta on Sunday mornings. Much less traffic.

We've driven back and forth to the DC area 6 times since just before Christmas...

Smooth sailing every time except for our most recent trip south (a few weeks ago). Two accidents in SC locked up traffic for well over an hour... It's a fact of life on any highway...

Waze alerted us, but even with their detour, it cost an hour+ of driving time... But at least we were moving...

There is always the Auto Train.

Use GPS App WAZE

We blew right through in the HOV lane today - mid-morning.....no problem.

We hit traffic once because 95 south was closed because of a sinkhole. Added 2-3 hours to our 20 hour ride. Other than that we have not had any issues other than NY.
