Default Anyone used CIE as tour operator for Ireland tour?

I'm considering a trip to Ireland. CIE is the tour company. I've googled and found some negative reviews. But there aren't a lot of reviews.

Has anyone out there visited Ireland using CIE?

My mother and I have taken CIE tours to Ireland twice and we loved it. We had a great time on both tours and would definitely do it again. If you have any specific questions, I would be happy to answer for you.

We had a tour director from hell. If you can determine your tour guide is a lady by name of Mary, run away.

We used CIE for Scotland and were very pleased with itinerary and the accommodations etc. We also had a tour director from hell. We blocked her name from our memory so I can't tell you if it was Mary or not. It could have been so much better if we would have had a better guide. The other bus that was traveling with us had a wonderful tour director and in talking to them they saw so much more than we did and had a great time on their bus. It's the luck of the draw which tour guide you get.

We had a bus driver/tour director named Philip and he was absolutely wonderful. He made our whole trip. My only negative is that we were in a hotel rather far away from Dublin . But that was due to many football games in town. It was playoff season. We were there with the Penn State group and everything was sold out downtown.

We had male tour directors both times, the first one was Dick McBride, can't remember the second one's name, but they were both great.

Cool Great time with CIE

We took a two week bus tour of Ireland with them. We had a great time. Good hotels, good guide and bus.

Now having said that you could have everything set to be with the best. Hotel, guide and bus.

Then the guide needs surgery, the hotel has a problem and now your experience changes.

It is a good company. Like Globus in Europe. Not top of the line but good and reasonable.

Best advice is go have a good time and bring you best attitude and adventurous spirit.

Enjoy what you like and ignore what you don't and you will have a great time

we just used them for Scotland two weeks ago. They are great! Good hotels, food and a great guide, so our experience was terrific!

We went to Ireland through Great Value Vacations and would book them again in a heartbeat. Our trip was self-guided and we had our own vehicle, but Great Value Vacations took care of flight arrangements, hotels, and any other tours that we wanted to book ahead of time. It was a great way to experience the countryside and all it had to offer, but allowed us our own individual journey. We are booked on a trip to Italy in March 2018 through this company...

Speaking from 40 years experience as a Travel agency owner I would say to take Brendon Tours, worth the extra few bucks if any. Susan

Three trips, 3 drivers, all were great.
