From CT to TV, now that I-95 is closed due to the flooding in the Carolinas.

Go to the North Carolina Dept of Transportation website. They have a detour route around flooded areas of 95

This sounds good to me. I timed it perfectly and came thru Atlanta once on the way down here from NJ. It was one of the only times I trusted the GPS. Normally a real map. I couldn't tell you which highway but we came into Virginia and there were several major incidents in NC & Georgia on 95 we diverted towards Atlanta and breezed through. If you don't get Atlanta just rite it can be a rough ride. I know this first hand. Good Luck.

We took that route yesterday Sept 19.

Normally take 81>77>26 BUT Charlotte traffic on Google Maps was a nightmare yesterday so took a different way with hopes of getting on 95 just south of where it re-opened. Success!

Got off of 81 at 581/220 towards Roanoke. Went through some road closed areas but got a chance to see firsthand. Then onto Asheboro, Cheraw and Society Hill along with another detour because Rt 52 was closed. Mostly Rt. 73/74 and Rt 1

Got on Rt 95 in Florence. There was no Southbound traffic other than 3-4 other cars where we got on. Very unusual.

Garmin GPS with traffic took us right through it without any traffic jams. My preference is to keep moving even if it takes longer.

I also enjoy that there are no tolls southbound.
