Default have you drove the Jasper, Banaff area in Canada???

I want to go but Mr does not like to drive in mountains on narrow roads with dropoffs.

We usually drive without definite plans.

We went to visit my sister-in-law in Calgary last December and they took us to Banff. There were no narrow roads or dropoffs from Calgary to Banff. Nice roads all the way.

I drove from Glacier National (Montana) to Banff, Calgary, Jasper, then back through BC to Vancouver, Victoria, (car ferry) Seattle, Mt. St Helens, and Crater Lake - the narrow roads would be The Going to the Sun Highway in Glacier - but well worth the trip. It was a while ago, but I remember good highway system. Keep your eye on the weather though - summer is short in the mountain passes.

My wife and I drove from Calgary to Lake Louise and than on to Jasper Lodge and back to Banff and stayed in all the Fairmont Hotels. What a wonderful trip. Very easy driving. The scenery was beautiful, the roads were safe and easy to drive and the country was very clean (like The Villages)

There are incredible bus tours of the Canadian Rockies. After going to Lake Louise and the picturesque setting, the Driver said "sit back and enjoy the view for the next three hours".
Each vista was incredible! I began to say "thats the most incredible (as we turned..) no.. that's the most incredible ..each turn surpassed each other! Since "leave the driving to us " was the order of the day ,I (the usual driver) could ACTUALLY ENJOY THE VIEW!

I cannot encourage you enough to take advantage of this option and it truly is an experience that SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!

You'll see so much more looking out your windshield than through the side window of a bus...no comparison.

Driven all that area and some. Great roads and scenery.
Watch your speed though. Canadian Cops take no prisoners.

Don't be afraid of the roads. Do be afraid of burglars especially in Banff.

Bruiser1, what bus tour company did you use for your Canadian Rockies tour?
