Default Port of Tampa

We're taking a cruise out of Tampa and I've heard that there is major construction happening which is causing huge traffic problems around Tampa. Has anyone experienced the above traffic problems and if so you can give me some advice on how to bypass the construction. Thanks

Hopefully CarlinTampa will see your post and pipe in. He will know exactly what to do.
Happy sailing.

We were just through that area a couple of weeks ago. Take the Tollway due west from I-75 to the port district and you'll avoid it all. Do NOT go I-275 into Tampa, it's messy.
Have fun.

Thank you both for excellent information. I just love my fellow villagers and their generosity in taking the time to help out their neighbors.
