I too would be interested in disavantages besides cost. Hubby is very interested in getting a class C. I am not convinced that spending all that money is worth it. I am not the camping type and not so sure I would like it. Although they call it "glamping" now when you have all the comforts of home and those big decked out Class As. Seems like a lot of work to me.

Go to rv trader on line and search for that model - will give you a good idea of what used are selling for. In the process ourselves.

Have to agree with above posts. A $100,000 motorhome generally sells for $75,000 to $ 80,000 brand new and much less used. RVTrader.com: RV Sales - Class A, B, C Motorhomes, Travel Trailers, & Pop Up Camper RVs For Sale is good site to get ideas as to advertised prices and of course you always negotiate below the advertised price. Take your time and I'm sure you can get a good deal on what you want.

Hi JC and john. We're not sure so testing the waters. The costs do seem high with gas, storage, camp ground fees, ins, towing considerations, repairs, not to mention the cost of the rv. I'm still waiting to hear the pros and con's also, as with every type of travel there are both

I am a longtime motorhome owner. RV sales people are used car salesmen. If their lips are moving, they are probably lying. You can beat that price by quite a lot buying from a private owner and can most likely get one that hasn't been rented out to smokers, folks with pets, and those who drive it like they rented it. Just google the make and model...you'll see. Don't ever pay anything near sticker price.

:agree: totally. We owned RV's for many years and buying from a individual is the way to go. We had sold our last RV about 3 years ago and were getting ready to buy an Airstream trailer when we drank the kool aid and bought our retirement home in TV. We really miss RVing and will probably get back into it down the road.

Any other sites you recommend to buy privately? (Besides rv trader)
