Default Royal Caribbean Refund

Back in March 2020 we had our cruise cancelled because of Covid. We tried to get a refund instead of a “future cruise credit”. They.said no so we have a fcc that expires dec 2022. We have decided not to cruise because of health and Covid issues. Has anyone got a refund after RC issued them a fcc and how did you do it- we’re not having any luck

Do you have a Physicians note saying a cruise will be hazardous to your health. Except for a couple of weeks ago 3 ships had reports of Covid infections. Have not heard of any recent cruise’s getting contaminated.
Maybe try the Governor office since there are no lock downs in Florida you might be SOL.

I assume you are calling. I assume you did not book through a travel agent though that does not usually make sense. On a cruse a travel agent often get you a quality up grade at the same price.

If, you booked through a travel agent, they have more pull than you do.

If, you are doing this alone, when you call you get a clerk. You want to ask for a manager. Not sure what an fcc is. Future cruse? Dec 22 is a year away. Covid? Truth no one knows what will be a year from now. Perhaps, you can negotiate a partial credit?
Perhaps, you can negotiate more time? Be polite. You will be asking someone to go out of their way to help you.

Obviously the cruse lines are not doing well. Ships are sailing partially full. If, you can negotiate a partial refund or a future cruse. Realize the company might go bankrupt or be sold or???????

Haven't had to use them but there is a non-profit advocacy group called Elliott.org that helps when you have travel issues. They have a column in the Travel Section of the Sunday Orlando Sentinel. Suggest you go to either elliott.org/help or chris@elliott.org for info on how to proceed. Good luck.

I have a friend going through this for a cruise in February a cancellation due to shipboard covid and port cancellations. Travel Agent no help because “ itinerary can be changed by cruise line” They are willing to take credit for a cruise at later date, seems cancellation policy goes into effect unless test positive Covid but you need optional cruise insurance to recover the loss.
Hoping for a positive resolution please keep us informed,

Sayulita Taqueria In downtown Ocala one block north side behind Main Street. Authentic street tacos, cold beer, the BEST!

Had a Royal Caribbean cruise scheduled to depart today. We booked through Vacations to GO. Two weeks ago RC offered a full refund if we desired and we grabbed it. Notice of the offer came through Vacations to GO who sent an email with a link to either get a future credit or a refund. We filled out an online form. It was easy and confirmed by email with the refund due in 30-45 days.

It took my wife and I 4 months to recover a 44 day cruise which was canceled when covid first hit. Sure glad we had the insurance. Holland America didn't require anything as they canceled to voyage. All prepaid excursions were refunded almost immediately after the initial cancellation.

Try contacting the corporate offices - CEO, customer relations, etc. Here is the link to that information: Royal Caribbean International - Elliott Advocacy Be sure to have everything documented. This has worked for me with another cruise line...

According to the Federal law, you have 60 days from the statement date on which the charge initially appears to dispute a charge. After that, it would be the bank's decision whether or not to remove the charge.
