Default Trip to San Diego

Flying out to San Diego for cruise. Will be there a couple of days. Any input on what to see? Staying near Old Town. No car. Also, any tips on Mex. Riviera cruise? Cabo, Puerta Vallarta and Maztlan.

The city as a hop on and off trolly. That will get you to most places. Search for it in google.
The Zoo is a hot spot.
Several ships to see at the cruise terminal.
The airport, downtown and cruise terminal are very close together.
You might be able to get a shuttle for $5 from the cruise terminal to the airport. A taxie is not much more.
Try http://boards.cruisecritic.com/ and look up cruise ports for info on the town.

However you can do it, get up to Balboa Park. Museums, beautiful landscaped grounds as well as the San Diego Zoo. Also, if you can, check out the Gaslamp section downtown.

Default san diego

I was fortunate to live there for a while and I highly on my list of 1- 10 say to see the zoo. It may sound silly but you have never had one like this. It will take all day and they have buses that will take you there. You will not be dissapointed. My second is mission beach if you like night and party time. Walk and talk, dance and hop till your content. Just my opinion I know you will enjoy. Take care Kar Guy

You may consider a visit to Coronado Island which can be accessed by bridge. Also, La Jolla is just up the road.

Default Wild Animal Park/ Safari Park

We lived in the area for many years.

Besides Sea World and the other attractions mentioned The Wild Animal park is amazing! It is located inland and was dedicated by the San Diego Zoo for breeding endangered species.

In the seventies it was initially designed as a facility closed to the public. But the educational opportunity and income potential was just too great to pass up. You'll need a car or will have to find transportation, but it will be worth the hassle. First get an overview by riding a monorail around an enormous enclosure where free ranging animals are separated only by continent of origin. Of course predators and cantankerous/agressive animals are kept in their own enclosures.

There are plenty of walking trails and entertainment arenas.

There is also the Embarcadero area downtown with the Martitime Museum, Harbor tour boats, the retired aircraft carrier the USS Midway and lots of shopping in nearby Seaport Village.
