Washington DC vacation
Will be spending a few days vacations in Wash DC. Have set up tours for Bureau of Engraving, Capital Tour, White House Tour.
Also, plan on going to the Spy Museum and Smithsonian. Have been to Arlington and national monuments on past trips. Any other suggestions on interesting things to see or places to go.

Things to do in DC
Friday evenings, Marine Corps Barracks, DC. Beautiful performance by the Presidents Drum and Bugle Corps and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Team. Free of charge. An event not to miss.

The Smithsonian covers several different museums and buildings including the National Zoo.
The Natural History Museum, The Air and Space Museum and the Zoo are the most popular. I would also include the Air and Space Annex by Dulles Airport. That definitely is worth seeing. |

Washington DC vacation
Take the Metro! It has stops at almost all of the major attractions. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people walking from one spot to another just exhausted when the could have taken the Metro one or two stops. If you miss your stop usually you can take the escalator to street level and see something else you have always heard of.

You will be busy.

Of the things that others have listed, I would endorse going to Mt. Vernon, and if you had time to travel that far, Monticello. I found Monticello particularly interesting because of the artifacts displayed from the Lewis & Clark expedition, including one of the diaries. Enjoy your trip.

Don't miss the Korean War memorial. Go after dark. It is dramatic and haunting.

The poster meant "She Crab Soup". It is a delicious creamy crab soup served with lump crab meat on top and a little bit of crab roe.

Se Crab Soup
My typo mistake...but depending on what restaurant you have the soup, it could be "She Crap Soup", instead of the delicious "She Crab soup"!
