Default Best Meal Ever in TV

Now that Sam's Club is selling "Prime" filet mignons and ribeye steaks, and they are also selling U4/5 prawns

I decided to give them a shot--grilled the steaks and 2- of the prawns on our Green Egg--perfection--Arugala/tomato salad

Bottle of a good red zin from ABC

My out of pocket cost was close to $60.00--Can't get a meal at any restaurant here that could match it for quality & taste--and if they could it would have to be over $150.00 to make a profit

Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon Recipe - Tablespoon.com

I made this in the crock pot. Extremely good but took a few hours to prepare with the shopping, prior cooking and other stuff.

When we lived on a boat and were cruising the crock pot was our best friend , especially after 10 hour crossings--west palm to the bahamas ( lucaya) and dog island to cedar key

I'd be interested in knowing where Sam's Club's prawns come from.

Thank you for this info. I love to cook great food at home. Your recipe looks simple and yummy as well. Do you also marinade your steak?

Just rubbed the steak with olive oil, black pepper and garlic powder--got the grill which uses lump charcoal to 650--seared the steaks on both sides then lowered the temp to 450--removed the steaks when internal temp was 120-tented them for 10 minutes-- while the steaks were under the tent -thats when I did the prawns

Very important get the steaks to room temp before grilling--I have a remote reading probe that alerts me to desired temp

I know you are very picky about food. You might be interested in this article, especially page 2 of it. How Safe Is Your Shrimp? - Consumer Reports

Around here, the shrimp I trust is wild caught Florida from Fresh Market. Or something from the local seafood market, Lighthouse. It's worth the extra price. Fresh Market used to have American farm-raised under their own strict standards and published a pamphlet about how safe it was. But they don't carry it anymore, and their farm-raised is from out of the country.
