Default Julia Child

So... a few weeks back I went to Julie and Julia with a group of ladies Jim and I met at DDRR. After leaving the movie, we planned a J&J dinner.

Last night we served:

Shrimp Remoulade

Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette

Beouf Bourguignon with potatoes

Fresh Carrots

Creme Brulee

Champagne, Kir and French Red Wine

The salad, entree and veg all came from Julia's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."

Everyone brought components of the meal. We tried some really good wines. Jim's creme brulee was sinful....

A fabulous evening.... and Fin had a friend over so he and Bailey kept each other busy for the entire evening....

The Beef was the best thing I ever cooked in my life.

Julia, er, Kate,

This sounds like an absolutely wonderful idea for a party. I have to know though....did you wear pearls? I hope so.

Today, I went to a Macy's sale and I bought some "pearls" with a coupon that I had. Twenty bucks for a single strand and they took off ten with the coupon. They are quite elegant. I also bought a strand for my granddaughter who was completely taken with the movie and has been cooking up a storm since.

Ms Boomer,

All the ladies wore pearls. My strand cost $19.99 at Overstock.com! I loaned a faux set to one gal who didn't have any.

Neither the men (nor the dogs) wore pearls.

Default J & J Party

KATZ..read your story about the J&J party and I for one am so glad that such a great experience happened as a result of that movie.
I loved the movie but never would not have been innovated enough to do what you did..Kudos to all who attended and enjoyed.
