What a nice meal, virtual visit and giving to solo people. Awesome. As a Canadian I celebrated Thanksgiving in October and I thought it'd be less stressful to cook for 2 instead of the whole family, but it still was! It's so many dishes that all need to be ready at the same time, and what a mess in the kitchen! Not my forte, but so yummy nevertheless. Maybe I'll get the hang of it enough to stop stressing one of these days.

Our most memorable Thanksgiving was flying the kids and their mates into DisneyWorld. We had reservations at a fancy restaurant. Flights were delayed by hours and the only place open by the time everyone arrived was iHOP. We squeezed around a large table and shared a fun dinner we'll never forget.

We cooked the full traditional dinner also. I didn't 'stuff' the bird this year...it wasn't the same, scrapping that idea. Once a year putting stuffing in a turkey isn't going to kill us.
I have two single 1st cousins living in TV that joined us. None of us wanted our family members to travel due to covid-19, so it was really great to celebrate with family...we were always together on this holiday eating at 'the kids table' back in the 50's |

Lovely story!
Your reasons for making your thanksgiving dinner are what keep you going. Very sweet story.
Since my Honey hates turkey, we had filet mignon, jumbo shrimp and Maine lobster instead. It was delicious and sooooo much easier to prepare. |

Asianthree, yours was my favorite Thanksgiving experience I read or heard about. You kept your wonderful traditions (which included memories of those loved ones no longer with you). You set your beautiful table as usual. You followed COVID guidelines to protect yourself and others. And best of all you shared your with others who were alone. Thank you for your grace and kindness.
