When I was a kid, my mother used to take us camping in Kettletown State Park in Connecticut. We went from the day after school let out for the summer until the day before it started. (My father hated it and only came on weekends.) Running water and outhouses. We cleaned the outhouses by hurling a huge bucket of water with Pine-sol into the outhouse covering it from ceiling to floor. I'm not sure it did much good. It certainly didn't help the smell.

But grilled Spam over a wood fire. Mmmm, mmm, good!

Haven't eaten it since.

Food works for me. Still think this going to be a lot of wind and rain but nothing major for us. Just pray for no tornadoes.

We cooked before the hurricane and have a lot stuff in the freezer. We'll have now German roulades wth mash-potato (our own recipe).

Bonny, Robert loves roast chicken. We have it so often, sometimes I wake up clucking! I always make a stock from the leftovers.

Henryk -- you are good, but I really go the extra mile.

I save and freeze all our chicken bones and when I have enough, I pressure cook them for our dogs.
Then they are soft and I put them in a blender or food processor to pulverize them and add them to their "crunchies" at meal time.

Talk about healthy!
