I do. With sweet onion, on white or rye. Yum.

Mustard optional.

Do you like them?

When I lived in England, I ate a lot of paté on toast.

Whatever the name in any European country, good " liverwurst " on rye or pumpernickel with an onion slice and mustard is just fine eating. There is little attention payed to offal these days in any form, but braunschweiger hangs in there.

I love braunschweiger, but, then, I love liver. Oddly, I like it with butter on sourdough best. Onions just don’t agree with my tummy even though I love em.

Toasted whole wheat bread, remove from toaster and while hot, spread generous amount Smart Balance on both pieces, thick slice of braunschweiger, xtra mayo, sweet onion, (Vidalia if available), couple leaves of iceburg lettuce.

Side of chips and Diet soda. Hmmmm.

Don

On rye bread or rye toast. My dad always ate it with mustard and pickles.

Sandwich has to be on Rye or Pumpernickel. Don't care about the onion any more, but still like dark mustard. Washed down with a nice cool mug of beer. Wallah!

I also used to make a liverwurst sandwich on an English muffin with some relish when I was a teen. I probably wouldn't like it any more.

Oh, to return to the good days when you could eat anything and enjoy it.

Really enjoy braunschweiger with onion and yellow mustard on a sourdough roll. I can't stand liver. For those of you that like Aldi's, they have a good one for $2 LB. I gave a friend a package because he had never tried it. When I asked him what he thought of it, he said he loved it. I then asked what he put on it and he told me mustard and onions, which I thought was a good choice. But then he told me he sliced it up and fried it. Never heard of that, but that house must have smelled for days

Goose Liver Pate with toast points ..... love it. But I also love Liverwurst .... I mean the full fat kind, not the wimpy low fat they are putting on the shelves these days. I ask for the deli person in Publix to cut me a piece an inch thick.
