I am not much of wine drinker but my wife really likes "Menage a Trois" (not what you are thinking) a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignion. You can usually get it at Costco and Sams for about $10 a bottle.

....I wonder if Tesco's Bottles of "SIMPLY RED" will have a PHOTO of MICK HUCKNALL on the label........."RED" has said the rights to that name could be "MONEY IN MY POCKET" ( his pocket )......and that He would NOT be " SAD OLD RED " anymore.........Yup.... I really like his music...always have ...and always liked "RED" as a person. It would be nice to sit back with a bottle of Tesco's Simply Red and listen to a SIMPLY RED album. Watch the "STARS". Maybe even stay up until "SUNRISE"

Cabernet Franc of Chinon is very popular in Paris not expensive. I like it. Popular white wines in Paris I think is Sauvignion Blanc from Entre des Mere but this was ions ago. Probably the tastes may have changed.

Funny you should mention that. I just tried a Biltmore wine for the first time today at my book club. It was a pinot noir, which I usually like. I did not care for the Biltmore one though.

P.S., Skyking, welcome to TOTV!:wine:

Was just in last week and visited the Lakeridge Winery north of Clermont, was a pleasant afternoon and Doug, our tour leader was a hoot! Wine was ok, bit on the sweet side for me but loved the experience.

I am sure Pinot Noir was not great. I hear Pinot Noir grapes are so difficult to raise and Burgandy is where you find great Pinots but so expensive. I think the movie Sideways had a seen where Byron was offered but that's pricey too. If you have reasonably priced good Pinot Noir, let me know. By the way, how do you make background color for the quote?:)

The label reads: Italian White Merlot. A refreshing dry white from Northern Italy with delicate pear & berry fruit characters. Serve chiiled etc. etc.
All I can say, it is very good, and very drinkable :icon_wink: :icon_wink:

Got to be from your cellar, since the restaurants in TV don't offer wines of that quality. If you ever get interested in Pinot Noir, try Domaine Serene from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, its........................Incredible !!!!!!!

[QUOTE=Pturner;401222]Great idea, GG. We'll all come barefoot. And back to the topic...

My favorite red is a good old vine Zin.

I'm with you...

Enjoy Seghesio Zins. Try this one if you see it in your wine store:

2009 Old Vine Zinfandel

92 pts Wine Spectator. Beautiful nose of crushed rose petals and red raspberry. Flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and spiced fruit with tones of French oak.

Runs about $35 a bottle retail, but well worth the price.

Jack

Kentucky Blue. I know Oregon produces good Pinot Noir. I would ask how much might Domaine Serene be. If the price is high then I would prefer getting a bottle of Burgandy. Will it be within $15-20 range? If so, I'll try it.

Domaine Serene starts in the $40 range, but a really good Pinot Noir from Oregon, in the $20 range, is Argyle.Kosta Browne is another top of the line Pinot, but very pricey. It's great for a special occasion, like buying your first home in TV or having your "significant other" actually admit she was wrong:) :wine:

Where can we find Gewürztraminer and Cabernet Franc wines to purchase around here? We have not been successful finding these.

Thanks,
Gary

If you siphon gasoline you hsve more taste than someone who likes Nouveau. Absolutely the worst. Sorry

blueeagle65 06-25-2014 09:31 PM

From what I've seen, the most popular is the least expensive....

.

My nephew has developed a hybrid grape that acts as an "Anti-Diuretic"....
.......it will reduce the number of trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night

The stores say it sells as fast as it arrives.....
.. it is now on the shelves between the Pinot Grigio and the Pinot Noir....

Look for the all new.............PINOT MORE

ABC sell a wine called, "The Ball Buster". A combination of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Barossa Valley.

On the back of the bottle, it reads. I wanted to name this wine, "Michelle' Block", after my wife. But that conjures up vision's of a soft and elegant sort of wine and trust me mates, this little beauty is nothing like that. She's broad shouldered, built like a stallion and pack's an intensity of flavor like only the Barossa can deliver. She's what I call, "The Ball Buster" mate, and so is this wine. Enjoy it, cheers!

I bet you he walks funny!!!!

I am not a wine expert, but it tastes very good. IMHO

I bought a couple of bottles so when I go to a party, I can say, "here comes the ball buster. :jester:
