We have a home in TV and in Ohio. We left Florida on February 23rd, thought it would be for 3 weeks and we would return to TV. We are staying in Ohio because it is the responsible thing to do. We would rather be in Florida enjoying the nice weather but it can wait. We want to be healthy and alive so we can do that in the future.

How do you control a self- quarantine ? You can't--the only way is to quarantine ,NY, CT & NJ-till this event passes

Apparently they are flying in without being tested, and without even being told to self isolate for 14 days. WESH 2 news interviewed people last night who said they flew in from New York, were not tested here, and were not even told about self isolating for 14 days. When we called the Orlando Airport and asked them what they are doing about this, they said "nothing." That makes no sense at all.

There are a lot of uninformed statements here. I'm in day 11 of 14 days of self-isolation after returning to Toronto from The Villages. There is no reason why people returning to The Villages from anywhere can't self-isolate - it isn't pleasant but it is possible as long as someone buys groceries for you. So if you are concerned, and you know a returnee, offer to buy groceries for them and leave them by the front door.

Self-isolation means staying indoors and completely avoiding contact with other people. You do that by ordering your groceries delivered from Publix on-line. The delivery person leaves them at the garage door and after he/she is gone you retrieve the stuff with gloves and mask on and throw out the plastic before wiping down whatever you bought and taking it in. Use Clorox solution if possible. You don't keep your doctor's appointment, or any appointment. You stay inside the house and don't answer the door if somebody knocks. If your yard is fenced you let your dog out on its own. If you must walk your dog you do it at some odd hour in the night when you won't encounter others. If you don't do these things there is a high probability you will die, so it seems worth the effort. They've proven the virus can hang in the air. If you walk into a room 20 minutes after an infected person walked through it, you can breathe in the virus. If everybody stays home in The Villages we can defeat The Virus. I've been indoors going on 3 weeks now, getting lots accomplished. It's easy. Relax.

One idiot on the news yesterday who came off a plane was interviewed. They asked her if she would self isolate. She replied that she only gets 2 weeks for vacation so she can't spend it all in isolation!

It is amazing that people can't follow simple rules.

All of the Rec Centers are now closed, so no visitors passes....

But they would still be here, going to the grocery store, etc. Besides, right now a pass doesn’t really get them anything anyway, everything that needs a pass is closed.

If there is humor in any of this .... all of the "migration out" could have been stopped by any functional leadership .... its too late now. They are already here.

Maybe they should be questioned , what is the purpose of this trip--my mother-in law, used to have a favorite expression from WW ll--"is this trip necessary ?"

I was about to post the same thing until I realized that they are needed for golf. And that's about the only thing that there is to do around here now.

Best we can do is all contact DeSantis and ask him to stop this nonsense! How many of those NY’ers will be staying with mom in TV passing it to us? This must STOP or we’ll be another NYC!

Guest passes
 

Guest passes Are no longer being issued since the rec centers are shut down. Anyway, at this point, the only thing they would use a guest pass for is to play golf. At least that is the way I see it.
