I'm 53 minutes away - wish they had put one in Ocala!

Your home address is already posted on the internet - in every search engine and every mapping app. Not a big deal.

And all one needs to do to identify them is go to the property tax website. There are lots of crazies on the internet, that is why people don't normally use their actual name for their screen names. Long time ago, someone on this board sold a tablet to another poster and forgot to clean it. The buyer then got into the personal emails and shared them with dozens of people in TV.

From Orange Blossom it’s 1 hours.

Having lived and worked most of my career in eastern Washington and Oregon having a Costco (or any major store) less than an hour away is a blessing. From our home the Costco in Wesley Chapal is only 55 minutes. We make the trip every 6 to 8 weeks and stock up. Looking forward to the new store in Clermont, it will only be 40 minutes via the turnpike. Went to the Costco at Altamount Springs once, will not go back.

Yeh, finally something accessible to southern part of The Villages. Turnpike entrance is out my back door (St Catherine's) off 470. Take less time AND aggravation to go there vs. Sam's off 441. Retailers need to pay closer attention to where customers are coming from. An explosion of homes is happening south & west of St Catherine's! Does anyone do effective marketing research anymore?

Guess we will wait until they build one closer to us. Not worth an hour drive.

36 minutes if you are a bird or if you are lucky that trip. For sure the benefit of living at the furthest southern end of T V is convenience to Clermont. It is hit or miss in that direction on the turnpike. 27 is usually faster.

At least you can look out or listen to the turnpike from Meggison Rd to decide if its a go.

Right!!??? Seems odd that more large retail stores are not south of 44. Boggling the Chick-fil-A doesn't see $$ opportunity below 441 and Mt Dora's.

I'm hoping Clermont won't be like the Millenia location, which is total chaos. Wesley Chapel is the most laid back Costco I've ever gone to.

Ptmckiou 04-10-2023 09:27 AM

Anxious to get this Costco! Sam’s just doesn’t measure up.

Were you a member? There is a huge difference in the quality of merchandise offered at Costco vs the other two which I am also a member of. Costco is one store you can go into for a few items and end up with a cart full. That is the only disadvantage. I cannot wait to get one closer.

Population of Clermont/Winter Garden, 90K. Population of Ocala/Villages area, 150K.
Interesting that Costco would prioritize a new store in Clermont before Ocala/Villages area. They don't choose their locations haphazardly. Perhaps they've concluded Clermont area will be a much faster growing area than Ocala?
