I find that as each Villages area has been built the developer has made changes. IMO, they seem to be for the better. I am glad that Buena Vista is wide open and access gates or off the main drag unlike the situation along Morse Blvd. I believe that was an improvement.

Also, look at the bond costs in various areas of TV. South of 466 it seems that the bond cost is double what folks paid north of 466. Those additional pools and rec centers have a cost associated with them. Do you think that folks north of 466 are willing to approve another bond to pay for more pools and rec centers? Rumor has it that back 10 years ago or more Villagers were not willing to approve a one time tax/bond/fee amounting to less than $100 a household to repair and fix the recreation trails north of 466. Good luck with more pools and rec centers even if you could find the land. (Before you jump on me for incorrect data I prefaced my last comment with it being a rumor. Whether it is $100 a household or whatever amount is not the point, the point was that Villagers were not willing to pay.)

The new homes being added to CDD 4 will put a lot more pressure on Mulberry. Maybe CDD 4 should fight the developer to keep him from adding the houses to their CDD. Maybe those homes should have to be a new CDD. Maybe it would force him to deal with pools and rec centers at the outset.

With this post and $2.50 you can get coffee most places in The Villages. :)

I don't know what fighting the development would do. The developer would just create a new CDD. Once built, the new owners could use any and all TV amenities.

Woodbury, Briar Meadow, Piedmont, Belle Aire, Glenbrook, Alhambra, Palo Alto, De La Vista, and Rio Ponderosa are all missing a Neighborhood Recreation Center. We truly are lacking in equal distributions of amenities - since almost every neighborhood south of 466 has a NRC.

Please!!

Well let see the Savannah center and The Sharon are BOTH in the North so those in the Brownwood area have a LONG way to go to get the best shows. besides where I live in Santo Domingo it is 6 min to Spanish Springs and 8 to Sumter....We are fine up here !!

Yes, they added more as they went along. It is easy to sell your home at a profit and move to where there are more rec centers or just drive to the rec centers that are far from you as we often do. Or...figure out where they would put more rec centers north, now that it is all complete, or...move to Sun Valley where they have good deals on seat belts for golf carts. There are all kinds of choices and there is evaluating a situation and accepting it or changing it for oneself.

Then of course you could join a group that would sue the developer.

I am almost sure that I read that there would be a rec center and an executive course in the area the developers are planning to build north of 466. Am I wrong? Weren't they going to use a church building and that fell through and now they have other plans for a rec center?

I agree with your theory that if land was available to build new NRCs, the residents of the area would not be willing to pay for them. Go back and look at all the "he!!" raised when cart stripping was proposed. That was only .80$ per rooftop. Imagine the cost of a new rec center and the ruckus that would be raised. Get over it all you "Pollyanna's" out there. The Villiages will not pay the cost of new amenities on thier own.

I live north of 466 and am happy with the amenities. There are 3 pools, 4 if you count the sports pool at The Savannah Center, within a short golf cart drive and plenty of golf courses. I have never had a problem getting a desirable tee time in my short time here in The Villages.

I believe the plans fro the new development include pools. This should help all residents in the area since we are free to use any pool we wish.

What your point! It still means those area are lacking. Did the developer provide koolaide when you brought?

actually no. i put a lot of thought as to where i bought and am quite happy with my decision. shortsightedness is not a luxury I can afford. I make my decisions, they aren't up to the developer, are yours? how was the koolaid?

It's pretty clear that the developer made improvements as he build southward. There seems to be a feeling on the part of some folks that he is now obligated to bring the previous areas up to the same standards. I just don't see that. Also, if it is true that ammenities are more plentiful south of 466, I don't see how the loading on those north of 466 are increased. Seems like that would tend to pull some folks south, therefore lessening the load.

We have our patio villa for sale. Fully furnished and in excellent condition.
We have not had one offer on it and we are hearing that people do not
want to buy North of 466. We live in Woodbury and love it, only health
issues are making us sell. We have plenty of amenities and even the
VA clinic. Please let people know that we love the north side.
