Default Fertilizer, Pesticide & Cutting Height Advice

We'll be snow birds moving to St. James in November. I am not familar with Zoysia grass & I would like some input from you do it yourselfers.
What months do you fertlize & what product do you use?
Do you use pesticides? If so, spray type or granular? I have read that Spectracade liquid spray is a good general product to use, is that correct?
What should the cutting height be & how much water would be needed during the different seasons (using the tuna can H2O measuring system)?
ANY INPUT that I get will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
