Default 55 yr.old woman dies near golf cart bridge.

This happened at two thirty this morning. They did not rule out that she might have walked across the golf cart bridge.

I fear it is one of our frequent posters.

It is very sad.

Here is the article from the "other news".

"
A 55-year-old resident of The Villages was killed in an accident early this morning near the golf cart bridge over U.S. Hwy. 27/441.
The accident occurred at 2:24 a.m. when the woman, who was in the roadway, was struck by a 2016 Audi A3 driven by 18-year old Keith Logan of Citra, according to a preliminary accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He said he saw an “object” in the roadway but could not change lanes due to a vehicle next to his. A passenger in his car, 19-year-old Alexandria Suarez, told police she also saw an “object” in the roadway.
The deceased woman’s name is not being released pending next of kin notification. She was a resident of the Historic Side.
Next to the woman, police found a set of keys to a Chevrolet that was found parked at Spanish Springs.
Police have not ruled out the possibility that she came off the bridge before being struck by the vehicle.
The woman’s body was removed from the scene by the Medical Examiner’s Office."

To have her life ended at 55 is tragic.
I feel very sorry for her friends and family; what a shock.
I am now reminding myself that life is a blessing.

The investigation will reveal a lot more information:

Why was she walking in the road at 2:30AM?
What was her BAC?
Where was she coming from?

What is an 18yo from Citra doing in TV at 2:30?
What was his/their BAC?
Any narcotics or drugs on their person(s) or in the car?

A lot more information will be coming, but probably not for awhile. Sad

The other, online paper is reporting she jumped from the bridge. Very sad, indeed.

Yep, I just read the article.

A Villager who died after jumping from the golf cart bridge had reportedly been depressed.

Lila Thornhill, 55, died early Monday morning after she jumped from the bridge over U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to the Lady Lake Police Department. Her body was in the roadway when it was struck 2:24 a.m. by a 2016 Audi A3 driven by 18-year old Logan Zock of Citra.

Thornhill’s death has been ruled a suicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Her car keys were found near her body. Her vehicle was found parked near Veteran’s Memorial Park.

After contacting her friends and family, investigators learned that she had been depressed since the passing of her mother and other family issues. Investigators located notes and other paperwork in her residence leading them to conclude that she had committed suicide. Investigators located video footage of her leaving her neighborhood in her vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. She parked the vehicle at Veteran’s Memorial Park, walked to the bridge and jumped.

Wasn't me!

May she rest in peace. And peace for the 18 yr old driver, too.

We need to pay more attention to mental illness. This has been our most painful issue sense the beginning of Time.
