At our previous club in another state, kids were prohibited from driving a cart on the course (or anywhere at the club) unless they were over 16 with a drivers' license. I think that's the way it should be here, but I doubt anybody will do it before some kids or others get killed or horribly maimed/dismembered/disabled in a horrible wreck.

I totally agree!

I have to make the assumption that they both are visiting, so shame on the grandparents!

Children Learn What They Live
By Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D.

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

Bravo, you may have saved this family from something horrible. You just never know. And maybe the adult will think twice? I said maybe.

You can break the law and scream profanities at those who feel you are no exception to the rules?

I know for a fact that their was an accident last week with a 13 year old driver and an over turned golf cart. Grandma in passenger seat (and yes she had "2" glasses of wine). She said "My granddaughter was just driving around in my area- the tire MUST have been low" when it turned over--both granddaughter and grandmother injured. Police were notified- Warning given not even a report taken by the officer....

So Against the law yes, but when the Police start holding Grandparents, Parents, Outsiders, Neighbors and whoever allows such behavior accountable....then things might change. I felt the worse for the granddaughter who innocently reported "My grandma fell over me, I had to wake her up and push the golf cart back up myself".

Which means- Grandma was unconscious for a bit of time and this girl was scared--accident time estimated at 1130pm last Friday night.

Where was this and what police jurisdiction? No officer would not file a report
on a crash with injuries.

Maybe I misspoke...the officer may have filed a report later, but he certainly did not charge the grandparent for allowing minor to drive---it happened last Friday-- SUMTER COUNTY. The officer said he spoke with all parties (Grandmother, granddaughter) ...he commented that "I wont have to file a report, but lets hope the injuries aren't life threatening because that is a lot of paperwork". He thought the accident was warning enough--

I'm sure he filed a report later. Failure to do so could result in his termination.
He wouldn't want to risk that.
