So much for that group of golfers who like to play nine holes late in the day during the summer. I know there are many. I sure hope this isn’t a permanent change.

I guess my thought was executive in that no one should be on the first couple tees after 4. Championship golfers could be making the turn. Did I say it right this time?

OK, kiddies, this will be post # 107 on this subject, and it's not really all that complicated. I'll try to be definitive.

The last TEE TIME is 4 PM (or 3:58 if you prefer)

What this means:

On executive courses, at 4:03, there will be groups on EVERY hole, the last group on the 1st green (hopefully)

By 5:30, the course would (hopefully) be empty, but give it to 6PM. After that, any of the self appointed golf course police can feel free to call somebody.

On championship courses, there will be groups on EVERY hole, the last ones being halfway down the 1st fairway. By 8PM (hopefully) the course should be empty, but give it to 8:15. At that point the same self appointed golf course police can call somebody. The golfers will be easily recognized by the flashlights they are carrying

I said course was treated a week ago. He said “real reason is they don’t have insurance and they own the golf courses so they can close them whenever they want!” Any comments?

2 hour play on Executive golf course, way to long......

As I posted before: every 9 minutes a new group goes out onto the first tee. So its should take 9 minutes per hole, times 9 holes equals 81 minutes.
(1 Hour 21 minutes max per round).
No wonder we wait for the front groups to move on, some guys think its a 2 hour golf game! :ohdear:

Ideally but all it takes is one very slow group on the course to slow down the entire course. It normally tales anywhere from 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours to play a round when it is busy. Even playing with just a foursome with nobody in front of you will take over an hour and a half on most executive courses.. That is why they always have a few tee times they don't reserve during the day so they can catch up.

They routinely kick people off the golf cart paths walking on the golf courses open or closed. There are signs that say golf traffic only posted on them.

If it takes you 2 hours to play an executive course, without being held up by heavy play, then perhaps you should try pickle ball.

Saw an ambassador moving non golfing people off the Palmer golf course at 6:45 p.m.. Good to see.

What is the purpose of closing the courses at 4PM now?

I used to go onto the executive courses near me in the early evening after they were closed and play until dark. I paid annual cart fee and it never was a problem.

The problem is your ignorance (or ignoring) the rules set out by the organization that own the property. Simple.

CatskillBill 04-13-2020 09:13 AM

The courses DO NOT close at 4 PM.
The LAST TEE TIME for ALL courses is 4 PM.
The Exec courses put up a CLOSED sign after the last group finishes (about 6 PM).
The Championship courses allow you to finish your round, that's why you see golfers still out there.
Walkers, joggers, or bikers were never allowed on the golf courses.
