[QUOTE=Chi-Town;2114251]Incident did not qualify for a Darwin Award thankfully. Anyhow, I think 14 is too young for drive a golf cart especially around here with street driving requured. 16 sounds better.

Totally agree. Need to know the Rules of the Road

The grandmother needs to be fined heavily like $5000

tghoul 07-10-2022 02:58 PM

The sticker on my dashboard recommends drivers should be 16 with a driver's license

BTW FL reports to all other states so even if the child isn't a FL resident it will follow her.

Although the child can be ticketed, there is no mention anywhere that the child did get ticketed.

Can't imagine Sumter sheriff giving 9 year old a ticket for driving golf cart at the direction of her grandmother.

How do you give a ticket to someone who doesn't have a drivers license? Ok you say, fine the kid, and they say I have no money, what then? lol

Why not it’s against law, especially when accidents occur

Would that classify as spoiled brat?

There is no minimum AGE LIMIT in villages, it’s un-forceable. Been proven several times, one was born here and attended village charter school at least till he was 9 years old.

What? A "moving traffic conviction" most certainly is the result of a ticket (citation). If you receive a traffic ticket, and pay the fine, you have been convicted.

A moving traffic *conviction* occurs if you are found guilty of the violation. If the court decides a nolle prosequi than there's no conviction, and the charge is dropped without argument. If you plead not guilty and the court agrees with you, then there's no conviction.

Conviction ONLY happens if you are found guilty. A ticket is not a guilty plea, and is not a conviction.

It's Karma in action - do something stupid and reap the reward.

Paying a ticket is an admission of guilt.

If your comment made sense I would probably agree with you.
