I walked to Sanibel to get my mail. The Sheriff deputies were searching her and putting drugs on the Deputies' car hood.
I walked right close to the Sheriff's car as they were cuffing and arresting her. :a040:

Until you walk in someone's shoes - glad you realized that at the end of your statement. It is a horrendous situation for the user and the family. Pray for them both.

What is the approximate age of the person in question? Basically, is she a grown child living with parents or is she an owner here? Yes, I know that someone under 55 can live in The Villages.

Also, if she did get arrested yesterday and was back home today, that was some very fast bonding out.

I would say middle forties. She looked pretty ruff so it's hard to judge.

Let's see.....eye-witness accounts(two) of a person being arrested at a pool with what appeared to be drugs on the hood of a police vehicle. This all after eye-witness accounts of "suspicious" activity by the individual arrested.(I say suspicious because there are some on this board that will dispute this information) Now this type of post is considered unreliable because more specific details have not yet been provided. (who, what, when, where-by the way, that's what journalists are PAID for) I'm surprised anybody EVER post anything they see. Please people, ignore some of this and continue to post what you see. Some of us trust your assessment....

You know jbdifan, if you read every post on this thread I don't see a one questioning the credibility of the OP. just asking further questions about what happened. There are three or four that say that the OP was badly treated, but people were responding to this very interesting bit of information wanting to know more. That is just natural. Now later, two more people who did know more have added to the information, so we have a little better idea of what happened. Some know the person arrested well enough to know she was on her driveway after this happened, but we don't know her. We don't go to that pool and that is the reason we are curious. There isn't any thing wrong with that. I don't see why people get upset when further information is requested. The folks taking issue with our questions seem to be the folks who know what happened. But we don't know other than some woman got arrested at some pool. Now we know the Sanibel pool.

Gracie, don't you think if the OP had more detailed information he would post it? Is it HIS job to do the detective work to get more information? It would have been nice to have asked if anyone had additional info and not appear to question the OP's information. From the way I read some of the posts, it sure seemed like people were asking the OP for more info, which he clearly didn't have. Sometimes information comes in a little here and a little there. If that's the best anyone can do then people should be grateful for that. When people give information do you think they would intentionally leave out pertinent information? They leave it out because they don't have it. Please be appreciative for what people do post. I saw the person that the OP is talking about in her driveway today because she lives at the end of my road. Now I didn't post how much her bail/ bond was, what time she got released, how she got home, etc., because I do not know that, but I thought that people would still like to know she was out of jail. Please give us reporters a break with all of the detail work. We will report what we know. If you need to know more, then I suggest you wait for the newspaper or other news source to give their report. Just in case you doubt that I saw her today, her name is Linda L. So when the report is made public you can read that she was released on the same day she was arrested and I actually did see her. Hope this helps clear some things up.

Personally, I really like and appreciate posts from regular people on what they observe around town. Most of the time, while they may not have all the facts surrounding the circumstances of an event, the postings are honest observations. I don't really expect posters to know all, and at some point, the real facts emerge from subsequent posters who are good at ferreting out stuff. Why in the world does this irritate?

gomoho 02-16-2014 07:09 AM

WOW - if the OP had included a link to his original post so we knew what he was referring to it would have eliminated the need for a whole lot of these questions. We are simply looking for more information - I don't see anyone flaming the OP. I also don't see the OP complaining about poor treatment except doubters from his original post which I have no idea what it was.
