We had a wall bed installed in our first house. When we moved to a Camelia (same floor plan as a Gardenia) we had another wall bed installed. One difference from the old house: we had a closet put in one side of the bed and 2 drawers instead of a dresser. Works great for us!

Build in draws as well This will eliminate the need for a dresser. Bifold doors work great. Allow for full access.
Lowe's or Home depo have closet section. Go check it out for ideas.

Then it is not a bedroom it is a den. The description would be 2 bedrooms and a den.

It has to do with size of the room not the cost to put in the closet. The room would be very small if they took out 2.5 feet for the closet.

Correct it's a two bedroom plus den, all the real estate agents will tell you otherwise but that's a load of b - s

Just review the tax records for the correct description.

Technically its a den that could be used as a bedroom.

Different locations have Different requirements to be defined as a bedroom.

Some locations DO NOT require a closets.

In the absence of a closet it’s really a 2BR with a den.

Has anyone hired a contractor to do this?
If so, can you please provide details cost and contact details of the contractor.
Thank you very much
Julie
We have a big yard with plenty of room to the side of the house where the den is. That room was way too small. We had that outside wall knocked out, the room expanded 10 feet out with a safe room, 7' by 8' added behind that, outside wall of hall bath. We put shelves in that room so it can be used as a walk in closet but had a 36" wide heavy door at the entrance. Since our walls are all solid concrete blocks, we wanted a windowless room that we could use as a safe room during hurricanes, tropical storms or tornadoes. Used it during Irma but also as extra secured storage space. $28,000 but the contractor, out of Tavares, may not be in business anymore. They did an excellent job, McCloskey Homes.

Bedrooms without closets are called “dens”.

Who cares what it’s called or if it’s legal. The original poster wanted a contractor and cost

A friend has a Gardenia with a murphy bed. Makes for a good den/office with an option to provide a sleeping solution for visiting guests.
