Default Adding new flooring

I'm replacing all the flooring in our Villages home and doing it myself and I would like to know what the best way to dispose of the carpet and pad may be. It is 8 years old and I doubt if Habitat would want it.

Cut the carpet and pad to 4 foot width and roll it and put it out for g'day.

I just put laminated flooring down in two of my rooms. TV Mayor is right, just cut carpet and put out garbage day. One thing I did was I put the tackless between the carpet so the sanitation men wouldn`t get cut by the nails.
