I totally agree!!

But, there will be the people that will somehow blame The Developer for the diversion of the rain water from the residential areas to the courses because they can’t play their free golf today.

Or, they’ll blame The Developer for the rain.

I live on a championship golf course and there is a deep ditch which separates us from the course. Last night that ditch was full to the top, this morning there is not a drop. Yes, the Developer knew what he was doing when he built The Villages, and thank goodness we found The Villages.

The land around our home in NH would flood whenever we had this much rain and we would be an island for several days!

According to the weather this morning, we got between 6" and 7", but it is still raining and will probably rain on and off most of the day.

I had just a little over 4" on my gage this morning. Although we don't have any flooding here, there must be a lot somewhere. My Alert radio went off all night.

We only got 3" last night according to our rain gauge. Nothing like the 10+ inches we got when the hurricane rolled through last year. Even then, there were only a couple of streets and a handful of golf cart tunnels in all of The Villages that were flooded. They did do an amazing job planning this place, indeed.

I have heard some folks complain that the water retention ponds and golf course ponds and lakes have looked a bit nasty as they drew them down for hurricanes that never came this year. Well, last night's rains had some place to go thanks to that foresight!

We were coming home last evening around 7:30 or so (south on Morse) and saw the lights of some sort of truck down by the tunnel that goes under Morse by the bridge. Wondered if they were there because of extensive water (???). That tunnel does fill up a bit but who'd want to be out in that weather in a golf cart was my question. It was bad enough in a car.

Tampa radar says that in the Villages we accumulated about 2.5" to 3.5" inches of rain, the most in the north-east parts of the Villages. Places to the east of the Villages got 6" inches of rain.

ALWAYS, well almost ALWAYS, sinkholes follow a lot of rain in a short time. No one, neither the Morses nor the Almighty seem to be able to stop that.
