Default Forwarding Mail

So we had our mail forwarded for 6 weeks. I have informed mail, so I saw most of what mail came.

Only two pieces of mail was forwarded, bank, and seco. 16 envelopes that were addressed to us, from business, some contained bill, or receipts, were not forwarded.

Each day I sent report missed mail. Still not forwarded. Contacted USPS, could not give any answers. Any thoughts?

Call the local postmaster for your zip code.

That was 40 minutes out of my Life I will never get back. Response was all mail was yellow sticker, and forwarded. I might want to check with post office where mail was forwarded to. It must be, and I quote misplaced by that postal station

We had the same issue when we bought six years ago, missing mail, including bills, went to Premium Forwarding Service. It’s not cheap, but we haven’t had any problems since we started it.

Premium forwarding?
Paying them more to do what is supposed to be part of their regular service.

USPS Premium Forwarding. $21 to enroll and about $20 a week to have all mail sent weekly by Priority Mail.

For someone that does all shopping on line, I would think you would do online banking and ebilling. I do and I don't have to worry about my mail.

That is why I go with paperless billing whenever possible. I prefer getting notified of bills via e-mail and being able to pay online. Wherever I am I'm able to receive and pay bills as long as I have internet access.

Online banking since inception. As I stated in first post, our landscape guys and some work we had done at the house, are paper only. Just yesterday, all 12 of the 16 envelopes showed up at house Friday. They were postmarked from September. So wonder where they were sitting, in TV.

I think it is time for the USPS to allow people to opt out of paper mail entirely. Those who send junk mail or paper letters would just get a notice that the recipient doesn't accept paper mail, and include an email address for the recipient. Important mail would need to be sent by a service like FedEx. It would save a lot of money, paper waste, and energy. More than 95 percent of my mail is trash, but I need to drive to the postal station in case the IRS or someone else has sent me an official letter.

Do you use "Informed Delivery"? Works great to see what's coming.

I do use it, and it reduces my trips to about one per week.
