I realize there may be a need by some to save as much as possible on groceries but considering that the majority of homes in TV are just a couple and they are not feeding ravenous teens, i find it ridiculous to drive to multiple stores for a day to save some pennies.

You might find it ridiculous, but my hubby loves it. If he saves 10 cents he's happy. It has nothing to do with money. He just loves a bargain and has fun seeking them out. It's all about the hunt.

My wife would not have that same opinion. To me my time is more important than marathon shopping. I would rather be relaxing.

What does it matter to you if people chose to shop in various shops for various items ................ It's got nothing to do with saving pennies here there and everywhere, it's how people chose to live their lives.

I dont care where anyone shops but arent I allowed to express an opinion.

Well since most are retired I'm pretty sure that relaxing can be the majority of life. I will only buy my meat in a certain place it just so happens they have a fabulous wine department, and fresh veggies. Whole foods, trader joes has a fabulous pre made items for something quick, organic and kosher. Sam's and Costco has your staple items. I basically shop once a month it takes me with drive time 2 hours for four stores. Add on my two hour massage is Probably less then others. I am an organized shopper. So I get to relax the other 30 days. It's better to get good guality for us than to settle for what's in one store.

I think it was just the part where you said "I find it ridiculous."

We save $100's each year by shopping at Aldi's...and maybe $100's per month. So glad they are building a new one in that location. Do you know when it will be open?

Wow, you must buy a lot of groceries if you are saving $100's of dollars each month !!!

We eat a bag of butter lettuce every day. The price difference between Aldi and publix is between $1.50 and $2 per bag. Add sweet bell peppers, squash and tomatoes and We save a lot. We are former DINKS (dual income no kids) who are learning to be NINKS (no income no kids).

Since your saving ( maybe ) $100's each month by shopping @Aldi's then that would add up to $1000's per year...and $100's each month..you must be feeding the neighborhood, if that is correct then your neighbors are the ones who are saving...Very Generous of you. :plane:

I must be doing it different my average groceries cost is less-than $200. That's per month. We do use our garden and can or freeze. Only changes if company is coming and usually most will com from my stock pile. I do shop at TJs. I did take aldi ad this week and compared to other ads (my list goes to a weekly ad app of best price) 83% aldi was equal to other stores for same items, sometimes more. Nothing against them, I just get most bang for my buck

I wish that was my cost for groceries. How often do you eat out? What and how much do you grow?
