Once again, thank you Admin.

I am heartbroken at the hurt feelings that have been experienced the past several days. How can we lose such wonderful posters as Gracie, Angie and Russ? Please, you three, please come back. Believe me, there are hundreds of us out here in cyberspace who love you and want you back!! Let's just ignore the negativity and hopefully it will go away.

I'm with you on this one Richie. A lot of anger over nothing!

I have never understood, nor will I ever understand why some people find it necessary to make snide comments about another person's post. Read it if you must, comment upon it if you have something substantive to add, and if you don't follow it or think it is beneath your contempt - move on. As I have posted before, it is very easy to be misunderstood or misinterpreted on a message board. Nuance and context are not always readily evident in a brief written statement, especially if the writer is attempting satire or irony.

I agree. If BigLew didn't understand or like the thread he could have just moved on to the next thread. Why post something snotty? Like Thumper said, "My mother said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Think before you judge.....

From the first time I read this post, I wondered why you did not state the problem, but instead spoke in parables.

The lack of context makes this very hard to understand.

I wondered, "Did somebody here call a 15 year old girl and slut? Did somebody here call a guy "fat"? Did somebody call a war-injured veteran "ugly"? It all sounds pretty nasty.

I don't think this is the post that people were upset by, I love tv.

It's obvious (at least to me) what angie is talking about. There are many judgmental people on this earth. Some attack individually and some attack in packs. To me, the ones that attack in packs are worse because they feed off of each other and then back each other up to make the attacked person feel worthless and/or angry. It's not a good feeling to be in the position to have to defend yourself against the pack.
If someone says something inappropriate and it's to an individual then it's up to that individual to respond, instead the whole pack attacks and the the thread loses it's meaning then nobody knows what the fight is about anymore. There are a lot of very intelligent people on this site and just as many who love to hear themselves talk while saying nothing. These people tend to fuel the fire.

Amen! I think there's the possibility, however remote, that if 50 people on this forum put their arms out a window on a rainy day only about 38 of them would agree their arms even got wet. Just a thought!

Hummmmmmmmmm, maybe some folks should be banned to the political forum where hate and discontent abound. Punishment here could be your banned to political and have to make 100 posts before you can return. :D

Pturner, Richie, a few others, all good and sound non judgmental input.

Angie, hurry back, we miss you. Same for Russ and Gracie.

BigLew 08-11-2011 06:37 AM

exactly!
