We take our cans to our mail station where the Lions Club has an area for leaving them. They are collected a couple times a week.

Mail stations north of 466 have the Lions Club cans to collect the cans -- for some reason, they don't seem to go very far south. Such a shame.

I live in the ALHAMBRA village....
Where the LIONES CLUB collects them at our post office too.
The LC gentleman I talked to suggest we mash the cans and just drop in the containers placed for pick up. This provides more room on the truck.
Now,if you have a lot .....GREAT ...mash and leave in a bag.
They are so apprecitive for the donations....

Yes! The Humane Society collects aluminum and newspapers
and they get paid for both which helps to offset many of their costs.

I am in the process of getting more information to post on this site.
They have a few drop-off places close by.
I will follow up with exactly where these places are located.

Please start saving your aluminum and newspapers now.

Bonanza, please keep us posted. I would much rather get our newspapers and cans to a worthy cause (particularly a critter cause) than recycle.

I take mine to Doggie Doo Run Run. One of the owners is a school teacher in Leesburg. She uses the proceeds from the cans they take in for recycling for items for the kids she teaches in the Lake County School System. Doggie Do Run

The Lions Club picks up the cans EVERY day at all the postal stations north of 466. It is one of our major fund raisers and all the money goes for charities. If you have cans and can't bring them in just call us and we will pick them up. Why give them to Waste Management when you can help so many people in your own community?

Thanks for all your responses. I am in Amelia (south of 466). I will wait for Bonanza to post more specifics.
