Im shocked at TV...at our age we have gone thru worse. So many veterans here that went thru worse.

We have no kids here to protect and feed. But the entitled worry warts have cleaned out the stores.

Wait for two years and the news will have articles on the Year the World Went Nuts

Sorry...not buying it...scientists and politicians just love to control.
During these times, there are only two things to worry about
Are you sick or well. If you’re well there’s nothing to worry about. If you’re sick there’s only two things to worry about. Either you will live or die. If you get well there’s nothing to worry about. If you die, there’s only two things to worry about. Either you will go to Heaven or Hell. If you go to Heaven there’s nothing to worry about. But if you go to Hell you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your former Villages friends you won’t have time to worry. . . . . so, there’s nothing to worry about.

And this is the problem. Follow the experts. Those are not fake bodies the Italian military is taking out of the city hospitals.

Just trying to understand....according to the CDC since the flu season began, approximately October 1 there has been 38 Million with the flu, 390,000 hospitalized and 23,000 have died. That is 1,000 per week that have died but I wonder why the media does not mention these numbers. The numbers they quote are thru March 14.

Seriously people, think and don't panic.
True, but why should anyone have to do that because of the entitled, selfish hoarders?
And what will be said if all laundry detergent is hoarded? Or water? Or milk and eggs?

Stores were not prepared for the change in purchasing habits. Did people really expect nothing to change when The Villagers had to stay home? Perhaps the hysteria is in the failure to absorb that fact.
So that causes the to shyt more?

Yes, and 617,425 have died from all other causes. The media won't mention it because it distracts from the panic and hysteria, and doesn't help their agenda, which I believe is a 3 part show:
1) convince everyone how horrible this is
2) convince everyone it was mismanaged
3) blame the president

This is serious, and deserves the media attention, but in a factual and unbiased way. I don't remember anything like this with the swine flu of 2009.

I agree. Let the virus run its course. Make temporary hospitals. We may lose a huge number of folks 65 and older, and those already very sick. But the strong will servive.

Exclamation A look at the future?

Are we entering a society based on socialism? The government is telling us when we can leave our homes and when we must return! The government is some states is dictating who will get treated and who won't (hint - if you're over 60 and live in Washington State, you might not get treated). The government is telling business owners how to run their businesses. Our government has told us when we can swim, where we can socialize etc.

Socialistic society have two weapons to control the population - force and/or fear - are we succumbing to the latter! If you fear the current situation, then by all means self-quarantine. If not, we shouldn't let the government dictate to us!

(how many flames will I get for this?)

You do realize that half of the population in this country has been immunized against the flow and there are still deaths. With the coronavirus no one has been immunized therefore the number of deaths could be 10 fold. And experts have said that this virus is much more contagious than the flu. Frankly I think it is more productive to listen to the experts rather than people on social media burying their heads in the sand.

I don't know the answer to your question, but in the flu season of 2017 -2018 80,000 people died from influenza in the US. We're far from that number and we may get there, but maybe we will never reach that number either. This is not a time to worry or panic, it is a time to use common sense.

when I moved here several years ago, I expected to deal with a more mature group of people. Instead, it is like junior high school all over again.

This becomes real when you have a 51 year old son, whose a father, brother and husband fighting to breathe and in pain....going to bed every night wondering if he will wake up in the night unable to breathe at all and knowing until he needs a respirator he's on his own.
I'm so tired of people not recognizing the facts that are given to us by REAL medical professionals that this is much more contagious than the flu and because of people thinking they are smarter than the professionals and selfishly cavalier (choosing my words carefully) the numbers will surpass any flu season. And they are putting others at risk and helping to tank our economy.
Fearful of these.....
