Default Am I the only one...

That thinks this mass hysteria is ridiculous? People panicking over TP. People buying guns and ammo.

Im shocked at TV...at our age we have gone thru worse. So many veterans here that went thru worse.

We have no kids here to protect and feed. But the entitled worry warts have cleaned out the stores.

Wait for two years and the news will have articles on the Year the World Went Nuts

Sorry...not buying it...scientists and politicians just love to control.

You are not the only one. I am concerned that what they are doing to distroy the economy will end up causing more deaths than the virus will. Also, there doesn't seem to be anyone who is controlling or guiding the overall situation or plan of action. Who is in charge?

Politicians are not decision makers in the same sense that business and everyday folks.
They have too many "beholding" considerations that affect what they do/say.
Hence their decision may not have anything to with right or wrong or do that which is best.

No, you are not the only one and that is why the virus continues to spread.

And your medical degree came from what university? The Bill Gates School of Internet Medicine?

The internet has fueled this hysteria. Has fueled this panic.

Yes, people will be sick. Unfortinately, some will die.

But the truth will be told...politicians, the media, and social media has blown this out of proportion

That is opinion, not truth. This is exactly the attitude that will cause the visus to be spread. We have an opportunity to avoid what Italy is going through. However, those who refuse to participate in the effort is a real problem.

Amen. I note that some of your very vocal compadres have gone off the grid. And one doesn’t need a medical degree to see what’s happening in the world. Some, who act as experts, may have caused carelessness. Carelessness we cannot afford. Carelessness that can result in death.

People who use caution are not chicken littles as they’ve been called on this forum. Caution is not panic.

Is Caution buying up loads of toilet paper? Is caution cleaning out the shelves of Publix and Walmart?

No, that is panic and hysteria.

In your eyes...

Critical thinking will allow most people to process the fact that restaurants are closed other than some which provide carry outs. One must realize people who seldom or occasionally eat at home are now grocery shopping, using products in their home in larger quanities. Stores were not prepared for the change in purchasing habits. Did people really expect nothing to change when The Villagers had to stay home? Perhaps the hysteria is in the failure to absorb that fact.

Guess they are eating home so much that a couple in TV need 100 rolls of toilet paper?

Dont talk about “facts”....this is nothing more than speculation and hysterical fear.

No proof yet this will be worse than H1N1 or a bad flu season.

Facts, yes, facts are difficult for some people. It should occur to the observer that a couple with one hundred rolls of toilet paper may have mental issues or are selling them online for profit. Most of us know the average persons here are not hoarding 100 rolls of TP.

Having relatives in Italy would probably help the doubting Thomases.

I bet all the people who died in Italy had the same impression.

While the panic buying of toilet paper is ridiculous, 149 countries have people dying of this virus. It can’t all be hype.
