Default American History Lovers, Veterans, and other Patriots don't miss this production

Tony Award winning 1776 The Musical presented by KC Productions at The Savannah Center in The Villages June 18th @ 7pm and June 19th @ 3pm. 1776 The Musical, winner of 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical, is a brilliant imagining of American history, a grand tale which manages to feel both intimate and epic at once, bringing humor and humanity to the account of twenty men, three months, and one incredible argument, in which the fate of nations is decided.
It’s the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence… if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 The Musical follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence.
The seminal event in American history blazes to vivid life in this most unconventional of Broadway hits. Told with great humor, riveting drama, and wonderful songs, 1776 The Musical puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the national icons: proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures, determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation.
Starring Bill Davis as John Adams and featuring Tim Casey as Edward Rutledge, Barry Corlew as Ben Franklin, Bob Brandoni as Thomas Jefferson, Sue Schuler as Abagail Adams, Bob Stehman as John Dickinson, John Rogerson as Richard Henry Lee, and BJ Odendahl as Martha Jefferson, 1776 The Musical will be a hit of the summer. Tickets are available at all Villages Box Office locations and on line. Ticket prices range from $22 to $29 for Villages residents, and $27 to $34 for all others.

Saw it in NY years ago, great show. Not quite up to "Hamilton" but still highly recommended.

Two entirely different shows but both with strong ties to history. Both excellent.
